The Tennessee Titans have requested interviews with four current NFL coordinators to fill their head coaching vacancy, multiple outlets reported Monday.
Coming off a second consecutive 3-14 season, Tennessee wants to sit down with Kansas City offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and defensive coordinators Steve Spagnuolo of the Chiefs, Vance Joseph of the Denver Broncos and Lou Anarumo of the Indianapolis Colts.
The Titans fired second-year coach Brian Callahan after a 1-5 start this season and finished 2-9 under interim head coach Mike McCoy, including Sunday's season-ending 41-7 loss at Jacksonville.
Nagy, 47, was 34-31 in four seasons as head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2018-21. He went 12-4 in his first season to earn NFL Coach of the Year honors. He just completed his fourth season on Andy Reid's staff in Kansas City, his third as the OC.
Spagnuolo, 66, compiled an 11-41 record as head coach of the then-St. Louis Rams (2019-11) and the New York Giants (1-3 as interim coach in 2017). He has been leading the Chiefs' defense since 2019, winning three Super Bowl championships. He also won Super Bowl XLII as the DC for Tom Coughlin's Giants.
Joseph, 53, was 11-21 in two seasons as head coach of the Broncos from 2017-18. He was defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins (2016) and Arizona Cardinals (2019-22) before taking the DC role in Denver in 2023. This season, his unit finished No. 2 in the NFL in total defense (278.2) and No. 3 in scoring defense (18.3).
Anarumo, 59, has never been a head coach. He was defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2019-24, including an appearance in Super Bowl LVI. He just completed his first season with the Colts, who started 8-2 before finishing the season with a seven-game losing streak.
